have a silver box 10x7x3 with hinged lid and design on lid of Greek female chariot driver and angels. Border all around at bottom is leaves and flowers. There is a lock on the box, but no key. Inside it says Pat.July 25.82 C.N.Swift NEW York. On the bottom, wihin a circle, it is marked Meriden B. Company along with the mark of Justice scales within a schield. The patent mark is for the lock mechanism, right? This is probably from the 1880s or 90s, based on that information Patents like this don't last forever, so you can generally think within twenty years of the given date. IP: Logged |
