Rainwater lists a company by the name of Rand & Crane, working in Boston between 1886 and 1922, successors to C.W. Kennard and Co. I have found a few pieces of hammered arts and crafts silver marked Rand & Crane. Has anyone else discovered any? In addition, I have a spoon with a handle similar to that on a Rand & Crane bowl, but marked Hodgson, Kennard & Co. The style is definitely too late for 1886, so I would guess that there was at least one iteration of this company between C.W. Kennard and Rand & Crane. Does anyone have additional information?

I have been dredging through the older postings and have decided to add to this one. I have two spoons with the Boston Retailer Rand and Crane. Both spoons were probably handwrought by George Blanchard and one has a pierced and chased handle. I am finally teaching myself to use the space given to me by the ISP and will begin posting images as well.

Brent what shape are the spoons you own? Mine have a coffin like end and the bowl is fig like. They are both marked STERLING in raised letters in a cartouche and then RAND & CRANE incuse.
