Fine Arts Sterling Company was founded in Philadelphia in 1944. They were sole distributors of six sterling flatware patterns manufactured by International Silver Company. The company moved to Morgantown, PA in 1972 and was out of business September 1979.

June,

Thanks so much for all the information, I could not find anything. I am still curious about why they would make a small pin?
Anyone have any thoughts on that?
Thanks again...
Debra

Southern Colonial was one of the International flatware patterns that Fine Arts Sterling Company distributed. This pattern was patented in 1945 and was one of the popular entry level patterns at the time. Making spoon and fork pins out of the patterns of the time was a way to market the patterns to brides to be. I happen to think these little gems are really cute. I kind of wish they were still being made to stir up more interest in sterling flatware.

Again thank you for your help...

I had searched and searched and found nothing, new at all about this. The pin was my grandmothers, moms and now mine.(and I am no spring chicken) 48 in June. I knew it was old. I am hooked...

Thanks again,
Debra
