Hello Janet,

What can you tell me about this anniversary spoon? I understand that these are rather rare, but I was wondering if you could enlighten me on a few points.

1.) Is this the "Coral" pattern, or is it something else? I know "Coral" has a similar cabochon.

2.) How were these distributed? Could someone just go in and buy one at a shop that carried Jensen silver, or were they specially made?

3.) What material is the cabochon? Is it a natural or synthetic stone?

Any information would be welcome! Thanks in advance.

Brent

The anniversary spoon commemorates 75 years of business for the company. As a promotion and to generate business this was done on various similar occasions. Similarly in 1988 the company started Anniversay pendants in the jewelry line, moderately priced yet they were based on vintage designs by Georg Jensen. The spoon you refer to is in fact made with a coral stone. They could be purchased in any Georg Jensen store or any store that sold Georg Jensen. Janet Drucker
