I'm not sure what I have in storage. Besides the name listed above, there is a hallmark and all pieces are stamped as sterling 04. I think it may be about65 years old or so. I know there was a C. L. Byrd jewelry store in Shelby County, TN at that time. Would it have been customary for some silversmiths at that time to have put an additional stamp along with the original manufacturer's?

It was customary for retailers to put their mark on pieces made by others. Some still do that. If the Byrds were also smiths they may have bought things in a semi-finished state and did the final work themselves, adding their own touches. Could you post photos of these?
