[01-0371 20-0309]Hello everyone:

I'm looking for videos on silver making and silver collecting. So far, I have found only one...about Colonial Williamsburg. Does anyone know about any others that are commercially available, or in institutions that will loan them? The Silver Society of Canada would like to have a film evening and is searching for content.

Thanks,
from Toronto

I was very surprised at how little there is available in film and video on silver making and silver collecting. We would love to see your list. I did just come across this (I haven't seen it):
THE COMPLETE METALSMITH VIDEO
McCreight.
VHS, approximately 70 minutes.

It looks like it is based on the book of the same name:

THE COMPLETE METALSMITH
McCreight.

Tools and techniques for producing metal jewelry.
illustrated. 190 pgs.
ISBN 0-87192-240-1

You might try contacting Colonial Williamsburg, They produced a film on their reproduction of The Garlic Family Montieth. It is wonderfuly done. Also there is a film in which Frederick Miller raises a bowl. I do not know who might have that. Try contacting The Society of American Silversmiths. Hope this helps. Let us know your results and findings.

Thanks again! It's looking more hopeful. Yes, I've talked to Jeffrey Herman at the Society and he can't tell me much more. He has the Miller film, but it's not for commercial distribution unfortunately. I'm going to check with a smith that I know who teaches at a local college. He might know of something.
