Recently purchased set consists of tea pot coffeepot, creamer, sugar bowl and footed tray.Appears to be silver, all appear to be matched pieces. Identifier on base is WmRogers,Made in Canada 9977. Lid of tea pot is seperated from hinge ,hinge complete lid undamaged,is silver soldering the method that would be used for repair.

If you want to have the hinge repaired, go to a competent craftsman who does that kind of work. Silver soldered is a term often related to silverplate but literally refers to joining two pieces of metal by means of solder made especially for joining silver.

Oh well. Just a wild surmise. I'm looking for a metalsmith by the name of Martha Brennan who attended the 1949 Handy & Harman Workshop Conference in Providence, RI. Thanks for replying!
