. . .And now sterling silver! Its not bad looking, how does it look in person?

I would love to know who's idea and money this was, Europe, US, or Chinese? How much current Chinese silver is there today for its own use and is there a contemporary Chinese export market or is this the start of it?

The bottom one is a copy of a Blossom-like Georg Jensen pattern. The top set is Danish style too, kind of like the work of Cohr etc. They look like they are well made.

They strike me as being from the 40s or 50s. Most Chinese Export silver was produced in decorative styles that were popular/marketable at the time. The early examples look English and even have fake hallmarks. When Orientalism became popular in the decorative arts in the 19C, Chinese Export silver became overtly Chinese in appearance. Richard's pieces seem to be rare later examples of CES that capitalize on one of the most popular silver trends of the mid-20C: Scandinavian Modern.

In my post on contemporary trends in stainless design, there was a section devoted to Chinese flatware companies offering to produce any design given them. There was a minimum quantity required, which seemed workable. Something like 1,000 place settinngs. Or 500 for a server. The offer was for silver, silverplate or stainless. I suspect these are brand new. Will try to find the names of the companies.
