Hello,

Not silver, but quite interesting. A simple copper bowl, handwrought, straight sided, not in very good shape, but:

Apparently made under the auspices of the Works Progress Administration, and Not For Sale. I know there were some attempts by WPA artists to teach metalsmithing, but I don't know the details. Does anyone know more about the WPA programs? Was the bowl made for use by the government?

Anyway, I got a kick out of buying something that was not for sale! I realize that is probably still belongs to the government, like the WPA art, but I'm not going to sell it.
