A point of curiosity. I have a pair of sugar tongs by George Baker with the word "fine" stamped with a separate punch. I was wondering what the purpose of stamping "fine" would be? Thanks in advance for any information. Eddie E IP: Logged |

I suspect the word FINE was stamped on the tongs as a mark of excellence. Perhaps to differenciate from the mark STANDARD or COIN. I doubt if the tongs are made from FINE or .999 quality silver. Fred IP: Logged |
