I have tried to locate this maker without success. The mark is worn and I cannot make out the first initial but the last name looks like Fitch. The sheaf of wheat psuedo hallmark is interesting.

Robert Alan Green in his book "Marks of American Silversmiths" shows the mark of a James Fitch of Auburn, N.Y. The mark he shows has a sheaf of wheat. Sheafs of wheat were common in upstate NY. The actual mark that he shows is "JFITCH" "AUBURN" both set within a rectangle.

I should have added that the working dates for Mr. Fitch are 1816-26.
