I have a large Coin Serving Spoon which is almost 9" long. It has a very worn maker's mark on the rear which is E. Wilson. It's so faint that it really doesn't show up in a photo but my sharp eyed wife made out the name. I can't find any mention of this person and any information on who this is would be appreciated. Thanks.

Since none of the usual experts have chimed in, here is a guess with the usual disclaimer that without an image this is just speculation.

Edwin Franklin Wilson, Rochester, NY 1838
or
E.P.H. Wilson, Monmouth, ME 1875

My other guess is that E.P.H. is to late for this spoon (getting into the sterling era) but maybe ME was behind?
Good luck.
