I have three coin silver teaspoons with flared shoulders and fiddlebacks all marked "ND." I have a large serving spoon also with flared shoulders and fiddleback marked, I believe, "C. LEFAVOUR," though it is somewhat worn. All the pieces were found with identified spoons from the Massachusetts area circa 1830. Any help would be MUCH appreciated! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Although the person that initiated this posting is probably no longer active on the forum, there's always a chance that someone is going to find another piece of silver with one of these markings in particular, and therefore have a use for this reply. As a starting point for the C Lefavour marking, there is a Charles Lefavour listed in the 1850 U. S. Federal Census as a jeweller in the City of Linn, Essex County, Massachusetts. He was born about 1812. IP: Logged |

Also a Charles Lefavour listed as a watchmaker 32 Washington in the 1852 Boston City Directory. His home is indicated as being in Lynn in this directory. IP: Logged |
