At Scott's suggestion, this is a new thread for posting pictures of marks that have, to the best of our researches, evaded attribution. This does not mean marks we simply don't recognize, but rather those that we reasonably believe have not been identified before.

Please limit each post to one mark. If possible, include a picture of the piece; if one is not available, give a physical description of the item and any known history.

Do not respond to individual posts; if you have a comment to make or attribution to suggest, start a separate thread referencing the original post.

To start us off:

This mark is on a pair of 9" tablespoons of substantial weight They have an incised v drop, no shoulders, and pointed down-turned handles. Winterthur records half a dozen other examples by this maker, all of uniformly high quality; a number of which were found in the northern Virginia area. A 14" coffin handled ladle is recorded from the Timmons family in Boston. There has been some speculation, based on the decorative border, that the maker was trained in Denmark, where such marks are often found.
