Fighting the ennui of a hot summer Sunday, I was fiddling about with my project data and did a breakdown by occupation. The titles and numbers are a little deceptive, requiring some explanation. These are occupations that I have documented evidence of -- ie census lists, advertisements, directory listings, etc. Obviously many of the 102 clockmakers would deal with watches brought to the counter, or the 1737 silversmiths turn out a bit of engraving when needs be, but this was incidental to their primary, professed trade.
