I purchased this serving spoon in a lot of other late 18th-early 19th century New England coin spoons, but I cannot find anything on this mark. The first mark is thoA in script, and I cannot figure out what the second mark is; it looks possibly like an anchor?

Any ideas?

Here's the full back-the front is completely plain.

It's North German, from the Schleswig-Holstein city of Glückstadt. The figure on the right is Fortuna, the city mark, taken from the canting Glückstadt civic arms. The maker is Dietrich tho Aspern, citizen in 1833. There isn't much biographical information on him, but items with his marks (six are known) are dated as late as 1867. Items with the identical marks on your spoon are dated 1841 & 1846, which sounds spot-on to me.

Hope this helps!

It does indeed. I hesitated putting it in this category because I thought the style was somewhat Continental and the mark was, too. Thank you!
