Hello everyone. This is my first post to this forum. I found this site during my search for information about a rare counter stamp on a Spanish Colonial coin; a 1782 2 Mexican 2 Reales as seen below.

I found in another thread on this forum that a silversmith by the name of A.A. Mead had at least some ties to a mark that also featured a star and an anchor. That seems to be the missing link in my search, as my counter stamp has 2 stars, an anchor and the name A MEAD.

Can anyone help me to identify the stamp and stars found on this coin? I will greatly appreciate it if someone can positively identify my counter stamped coin to a specific person.
