Is it conceivable that William Hollingshead might have marked a silver and gold ornament of his own make (c.1780) with engraved / scratched initials "WH" instead of his usual stamped mark?

Anything is conceivable--especially with something that was special order or made for an important client. Could this be a monogram, however--as in an owner's initials?

The initials are engraved / scratched on the reverse of the object. The form of the initials are very similar to those in one of Hollingshead's stamped marks that I found online.
