I'm just back from a frozen holiday in Seattle. I found some very fine silver on loan from the Ruth Nutt collection at the Seattle Art Museum. A few samples:

The magnificent Dummer three quart tankard

A huge coffeepot by Bancroft Woodcock

A beautifully proportioned coffee by Peter Van Dyck

And a caudle cup by Charles Le Roux and a brazier by John Burt

The lighting wasn't great, so the pictures do not do justice to the pieces. I could not find out how long they will be on loan, so don't miss them if you are in the neighborhood.

Photos look pretty good considering they are no flash/lighting snapshots.

Thanks

Alas, no and no plans soon for one. The tankard is definitely promised in celebration of the museum's 75th anniversary, but the bulk is only noted as 'on loan.' Since Ms Nutt now makes her home there and has already donated a big chunk of her porcelain collection, there's hope it will all stay.
