I found a coin silver serving spoon that has poorly struck hallmarks. It is a three part hallmark. The center appears to have an eagle facing left in a circle. The letters on either side, perhaps an E or F on the left and perhaps a B on the right. The distinctive part is that each of the letters are in a shield like mark that has striated lines. I know it is a long shot but I am hoping that it is distinctive enough that one of the hallmark experts members might have a clue as to who made it. Based on the provenance it might have started life in New York City. I searched through McGrew several times and could not find it. Thanks.

It appears to be a partial strike of Thomas Charles Fletcher's initial mark

Thank you. I think I was too focused on a three part mark and completely overlooked page 59 of McGrew's book. You certainly have a gift when it comes to identifying hallmarks.
