Doing some family research on ancestry, I have found a distant connection to Johnathan Otis via his father Nathaniel:

Nathaniel Otis (1690 - 1739)
brother-in-law of wife of 6th great-grandfather

Not sure what that makes me - but I would be interested in seeing examples of his work if collected. tks

HISTORIC SILVER OF THE COLONIES AND ITS MAKERS BY FRANCIS HILL BIGELOW

Also it is my understanding that my 2nd great-grandfather was one of the founders of Harvey & Otis Company known for costume jewelry & masonic rings in Rhode Island:

Samuel Alleyne Otis (1850 - 1902)
2nd great-grandfather

Can remember my grandmother wearing broaches from H&O, and my wife's engagement ring is a family piece made by Sam Otis.
