I came across this spoon and can not seem to locate the maker. I think it is American but am not sure - so apologize in advance if it is in the wrong forum. It looks like coin silver but there are no markings except for what look to be the initials IL. It is 8 7/8 inches long and weighs 47 grams. Any info. appreciated.

If you invert the image, it may read "TS", but the style is unfamiliar and somewhat difficult to interpret, however it may be in an archaic form. Another correspondent couldn't make it out at all. If you have read enough old documents, that form of "s" can be found. [This message has been edited by swarter (edited 06-13-2017).] IP: Logged |

Thanks for taking a look. I never would have seen an S in there. Also - though you can't see it in the pic - there are fine dots bordering the area where the handle meets the bowl... [This message has been edited by cbc58 (edited 06-14-2017).] IP: Logged |
