Recently acquired at auction some spoons marked H. Leeler and can not find any info on the maker. 5.875" long. Anyone ever come across this maker or could the mark say something else? Retailer maybe? Tks.

My immediate reaction is that they may be European.

My immediate impression was German - found reliable reference identifying that mark as belonging to Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm Seeler (born 1839) of Rehna...

It's from Theo's 'silberpunze' site, and he references Scheffler - here are the translated notes:
"MZ: [ H Seeler ] = Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm Seeler (see [SCHEF M + ND] No.8), born on 11.1.1839 son of GS Jacob Gottfired Jürgen Seeler (No.4). He married Luise Maria Koch (* 1844 in Gartow) on 4 September 1866. Lit: Wolfgang Scheffler, Goldsmith of Central and Northeastern Germany, p. 305, No.8"

Theo is a member here, so he might look in...

thank you. I have a question if these are German. There are no other markings on these except for the shown mark. What is the probable silver content of these? Would it be 80% ? More? Less? Tks.

Eh, would suspect around 12 loth (.750), but could be lower or could be higher - if you need to know, XRF testing would be a way to tell...
