![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I recently acquired a serving spoon by Nicholas Geffroy, and the "N" in the mark is reversed. I have researched his marks and have not seen this variation. Has anyone come across this with him, or another silversmith? Would it have been done on purpose or would the maker of the die stamp made an error and he used it anyway? Or possible counterfeit attempt? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have seen the mark before, but have not found a good enough image to include on his page in my little project. The die sinker cut the initial letter punch wrong-reading instead of right reading. Here is another well-known example from the firm of Storm & Wilson. The same design, corrected, is also known. and another from Daniel Bloom Coen [This message has been edited by wev (edited 10-21-2019).] IP: Logged |
