Anyone know who SL is? The S is somewhat "lazy". On a 9.5" brightcut spoon. 1780's-90's maybe ?

It would help if you explained the rationale for your suspicion.

I did a little looking for the mark and so far nothing.

There is an interesting article that mentions Samuel Lockwood of Bermuda:

Someone sent me a picture of his mark from the "Made in Bermuda" publication, but it is not very clear. Pic follows:

My eye says they are not the same/or similar.

Tks. I can see some similarities in the lazy S and the L - but it's not an ideal match. Closest I've come so far but will keep searching...

Lockwood used more than one mark, so can't rule it out, but more examples are needed, as the style of this one isn't clearly Bermuda.
