Does anyone have any firm evidence for anything before 1830?

There are many; the most notable in my mind is the fork and spoon set by John Coney c 1700 now at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. It is trifid end with full handle engraving in a pseudo-Dutch floral motif. Of equal age is the set of four sucket forks by Bartholomew Le Roux (1663-1713) of New York at Deerfield.
