Hi, I recently bought a bunch of old silverware and upon cleaning some of it I came across beautiful knife set then noticed an imprint on the knife part itself not the handle stating 1835 RWallace I believe. It is so vague I didn't notice at first. Are these peices very common? I did find alot of Rogers Wares but not this old. What should I do with it? I was going to make a dinner and use them but now I don't know if I should even barely touch them? Appreciate any feedback at all.
Thank You
Deborah

"1835 R.WALLACE" is the Wallace Silversmith mark for Silverplate. It does not relate to the date of manufacture. Go ahead and use it. Remember that silverplate wears off and sterling silver wears out.
