Hi, Hope someone can help, I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SILVER---
I have a shaving mirror stand. Its about 17in. tall, and can raise another 7-8 in. The mirror about 6in. in size and swivels, It has a ring to hold the cup a clip to hold a brush and a smaller deep cup I guess to hold he razor. This is a heavy peice, On the base it has grapes and vines.
It has FB Rogers Sil Co--Taunion Mass Quadplate--5022 on the inside of the base. I was told this was from the civ--war era. Can this be from the mid 1800s, Any Help!!! Thanks Bob

The F.B. Rogers Silver Co. was founded in 1883, and moved to Taunton, Massachusetts in 1886. They were still in business as of 1975 as a division of National Silver Co. So, your piece of American silverplate can not date from before 1886. Your piece may be as late as 1910 or so, but is most likely pre-1900. Quadruple refers to the thickness of the silver plating. Quadruple plate is normally the highest quality offered.

I hope this helps! There are a few other threads related to this company in this forum, if you would like to search for them.
