[21-0134] Please help guys! I got this pot thing as a present and I don't know a thing about it. there are two marks: "D" surrounded by "Biggings-Rogers Co. Wallingford - CT" the second one is "Quadruple 1430". Does anyone know what is it? is it silver? Thanks IP: Logged |

Biggins-Rogers was founded in 1894 a a manufacturer of sterling, silverplate, and metal goods, having bought the foundry equipment fo the Hartford Silver Plate Company. They were in turn succeeded by Dowd-Rogers Co around 1915-1920. The Quadruple on your piece indicates it is silverplate. Without knowing the size, it's a little ahrd to guess usage, but it looks like it would work fine for a summer bouquet of wildflowers. IP: Logged |

No idea about the web, but you can get a copy of Rainwater's Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers(4th ed.) at most book stores and it will tell you just about the same as what I posted. IP: Logged |
