I am looking for info on 2 sliver plated items I have. I know nothing about them but each is marked one is Wm. A. Rogers, the other is b- with a castle- there is a W on the castle and the word BUENILUM printed underneath there is also a small mark under that if anyone knows anything it would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks again.

William A. Rogers was a silverplating company, incorporated in Canada and having offices in New York. They began making plated ware around 1894. The company eventually ended up as part of Oneida Silversmiths, which is still in business today. There were a few other William Rogers companies making silverplate, which makes this all very confusing, but the "A" allows us to identify the actual company. If you can post a picture or a description of the mark, we might be able to tell you a bit more about it.

Your other piece is not silverplate at all. It is almost certainly highly-polished aluminum, made by the Buehner-Warner Company under the trade name "Buenilum". Their pieces date from the 1920's to the 1950's, and are readily available in the antiques market. They are collectible, but only the most unusual pieces have a lot of value.

I hope this helps. I will try to dig up some more information for you as well.
