Are there any books available that would help one in identifying patterns for silverplate holloware, possibly by manufacturer?
Thanks for your help.

Have you looked at Bones & Fisher's "The Standard Encyclopedia of American Silverplate Flatware and Hollow Ware"?

It has a lot of interesting information on some of the twentieth century holloware patterns produced by Oneida and the International Silver Co. It was published in 1998 and is still available.

I have the newest one I think, c1998 with updated values as of 2003, but I think there are probably hundreds of patterns not listed. I'm not really interested in values, just pattern names. I tend to collect things I like the looks of rather than those which might be more valuable. I just like to know the name and something about them.
Thanks for the info. I'll just keep doing research.

Well, there certainly are much more comprehensive references on flatware patterns.

As far as I know, there's no single book that provides more information on twentieth-century plated holloware -- advertisements in old magazines and trade journals seem to be the next best sources for the serious researcher of such items.

Some of the "replacements" type web-sites also have a lot of useful info -- once you know what pattern you're looking for.
