This is a Meriden Britannia Corp Nautical theme goblet I presume is about 1880 certainly before 1896. There is an American flag on the launch and the anchor seems to be gilt, but it may be a trick of the light. I am curious that I have never seen one like it.

Any Comments?

Wonderful piece. I have seen this same base of merman holding up a calling card stand and a brides basket holder. Never seen the goblet before. Perhaps it was made for a special event, like a trophy or souvenir? Or could have been part of a set. Thanks for showing this, Dale
