I am confused. A dealer on E-bay has this bowl listed as Silver Plate. Please advise?

I am not sure what it is you want to know?

There is more than one Gorham bowl listing that mentions YC779.

In one it says: The bottom is marked "Gorham EP YC779"
The other says: Nice old Gorham silver or silverplate bowl - measures 6-1/2" across and is marked Gorham on the bottom with style # YC779.

  • EP = Electro Plate = Silver Plate
  • YC779 is the part or style number.
  • It is a Revere style bowl.

If your question is whether they are sterling or silverplate, they are silverplate. If they were sterling, they would be marked sterling. The EP clearly indicates that it is silverplate.

Did this answer your question?
