I recently purchased a nickel silver shaving mug just because I liked it. But I was wondering how old it is and what it's worth. It's a two-handled shaving mug with "grand Silver Co., WearBrite, nickel siver, silver souderer" stamped on the bottom. Also, what exactly is nickel silver? Is it the same metal nickel coins are made of? How do you clean it?

Nickle silver is an alloy of copper and nickle... It contains no silver in it at all. It polishes with standard metal polish and will take on a rather pleasant luster.

Could the "silver souderer" be "silver soldered"? This would be an indication that your item was plated with silver when it was manufactured.
