i posted this item earlier to the wrong section...english.irish...it is clearly silverplate over brass. the hallmark is under the base...an archer facing forward, face detail shows only two eyes open, bow in right hand, arrows in left. Shoulder harness extends from left shoulder diagonally down to belt, pointed cap with plume. on either side of archer are plumes or feathers. above archers head on left side appears to be a dagger...but not clear. On right side of head not clear. archer is surrounded by a circle of roping enclosing scene. no other marks. hoping someone can help me identify this mark thank you

The mark is for Roswell Gleason & Sons of Dorchester MA. Roswell Gleason began as a pewtersmith in 1822 and by 1850 had a substantial business producing high quality britannia wares. He was joined in the mid 1850s by his sons, Roswell and Edward, and the firm's worked turned to silverplating. The firm closed in 1871.
