Dale Posts: 2132 Registered: Nov 2002	posted 08-04-2004 03:20 PM This sort of piece draws upon medieval and early modern silver design. I have run into this type of thing on napkin rings, pill boxes, hand mirrors, combs, various types of containers and compacts. It seems to be contemporary, available in both silverplate and pewter and still made today. I suspect the design began as a museum gift shop item. IP: Logged
