I just purchased a silverplate teapot that has the following markings on the bottom:

L821 inside a diamond with the letters H. E. S. and P. at each corner.

The S. and P. could stand for "silverplate"; however, I can't find any information on this hallmark.

Does anyone have any guesses?

confused

Unlikely that SP means silverplate. The usual designations are EP for electroplated or EPNS for electroplated nickel sivler or A1. Good luck, TM

Thanks. I looked at this website before my initial posting because I didn't run across anything relative to H.E. or H.E.S.P. I even tried searching using the hallmark in the search parameters - no luck. I thought another, more knowledgeable, collector might know.
