I recently acquired this tea set it consists of a tea pot and matching creamer and sugar.

I had really no interest in silver before this. I considered myself more of a glass person. However this set has sparked my interest.

These are the only items I own and am interested in finding out more about them. Such as their age and where they are from.

Also should I polish them? They are badly tarnished but I don't know if they should be polished and how. They say Silver on Copper on the bottom. I am going to try to include a link to a picture I took ~ Sorry if the quality is not that great it is hard to photograph.

Any info or suggestions on care would be appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the forum. There is not much people can tell you unless you post a photo of your tea set, other than to say they are silver plated rather than solid silver. Even then, we may or may not be able to tell you very much given the paucity of information on many silver plate companies as opposed to that which is available on silver companies.

Let us see what you have.

Silver plate looks much better polished. Use a good cream polish. Wrights silver polish is a good one to try. Never use tarnex, as it can ruin a piece. It also takes out the dark areas in the crevices, which give it a nice old pantina while the rest shines.
