Hello---

I was wondering if anyone had any info on the Indiana Silver Co.? I have a sugar and creamer set that is marked with what looks like a shield on the bottom, with "Indiana Silver Co.", and also an ear of corn? inside the crest. It is also marked,"quadrupleplate" around the edge. I have not had any luck finding any info on this company.

Can anyone help??

Thanks!!!

Hi Krisnran!

Welcome to the Forum.

From what I was able to find out Indiana Silver was made by the Indiana Glass company in 1918. Try a search for the Glass company and maybe that will lead you to your answer. Hope this helps.

Happy Holiday.

Thanks so much for your information. I have done quite a few searches, and still coming up short. I cannot find any reference to the glass company making silver plate items only. Even references to the glass company make no mention of the Indiana Silver co. I'm trying to date these pieces, and having no luck, does anyone have any info???

P.S---I love this site!!!

There were always silver companies willing to produce items for others. And to mark them as the buyer requested. If you could post a picture, we might be able to give a guess as to the likely maker. Sometimes, the makers used their older discontinued patterns and shapes in these private labeling ventures.
