I have a set of 5 unidentfied fruit knives. They are stamped with SILVER PLATE C. & CO.with the number 12 below this. I have been searching for a while without success. One dealer told me they were English 1850/60's. The handles are completely covered with ornate flowers. The purchase was from an estate, so I am unable to ask questions of the originally owner.

Silver Plate Cutlery CO. -- Birmingham CT producing, as you would guess, cutlery goods c 1880-1890. They were one of the wholesalers that supplied such goods to Holmes & Edwards, Wm Rogers & Co, etc.
