Deep Silver was the succesor mark to Homes and Edwards Sterling Inlaid. In this process, a block of sterling is inserted at the points of wear and then the piece is plated. H&E was an old mark that had had a century of building up a reputation for quality and excellence. And sometime in the 60's it was dumped for Deep Silver.
