Pinsabigail Posts: 35 Registered: May 2003	posted 01-02-2005 02:49 PM The EPNS marks indicate Sliver Plate, not a sterling piece. As mentioned, these letters stand for Electro-plated Nickle Silver. Because most silverplate (generally of less value than sterling) pieces do not have date letters, it is difficult to determine age. The best way to determine date on silverplate items is to track the manufacturer and determine if their mark was registered during a specified period. You might want to move this to the SILVERPLATE forum for further discussion.
