Was wondering if anyone was familiar with the following:

1) box of several small salt & pepper shakers. Box has a picture of a shield and inside the shield it says V L with a banner running diagonally across the shield and inside the banner it says 1895. The items themselves are simply marked Sterling V.L.

2) a mark that has a shield with a crown over it. Inside the shield it looks like there are two dragons/lizards?? shaking a tree??? On either side of the shield there are two letters. The one to the left is mostly worn off so I can't identify. The one to the right is an 'S'. The item appears to be silverplate. I believe the item to be from around 1950.

3) Also, is there any significance to a either an hourglass or a drum on a Reed and Barton mark?

If anyone can help it is much appreciated!! THANKS

the reed and barton marks are date marks. the drum stands for 1950. the hourglass is 1953. i'm afraid the other marks don't ring a bell. paul
