Hi , it's dee again, after spending an hour intrigued with all the knowledge and willingness to share, I learned something, a better way to post and show my photos. I am even amazed with myself smile smile anyway, here are the marks, the handle is detachable and appears to be solid what material I am not sure. As before whatever I can learn from this would be awesome. I am a mom of three sons, the second one (age 25) just safely returned stateside after a year in iraq he is from the 101st, I enjoy my therapy time, going to consignment shops, maybe getting something, maybe not, whatever catches my eye. i do not know to much about any one thing, but after I discover it, I like the "hunt for information", I once got at 12x9 carpet because I loved the backside of it, brought it home, husband hated the "smelly old thing" did research and found it was an Oushak carpet c1900..value 5K so that was fun..I got away from the original meaning for the post, I apologize..anyways thanks to all, Dee

Hello Dee, and welcome to the forum. This silverplate covered dish or one very like it was discussed in the forum a few months ago. Someone, maybe it was Venus, asked about it. I think outwest has one also. Unfortunately our search engine is apt to go on mental vacations, but you could try pulling it up. I think you will find it in this forum. I remember Dale said that he sometimes runs into the individual cover handles advertised as napkin rings.

Isn't this the mark of the Ellis-Barker company of Birmingham, England? If so, the mark has been in use since October 1906.

Wow smile After all these years , if I had only know this forum existed. Thank you for the leads, the other pattern did have a handle that looked like mine, but the hallmarks were different. On my first post I got a response that it could be Hawskworth, Eyre & Company so I am going to research that also.
Just to let you know, it is finally snowing here in CT. My daughter inlaw who is married to my son in the army was up here for Christmas and she so wanted to see snow....so I am going outside to take some photos and email them to her. Thanks again.

Well, I have spent about 2 hrs( nothing new there) and I seem to be even more confused. The marks on this piece are in their own individual squares. All this time I thought the letters were EPNS and now they seem to be "E" a "P" a "A" and an "S" with the "pineapple" in front of them. I am confused!!

It looks more like "E p n s" to me. One of the reasons many factories used hard to read old English font letters was to obscure what they are to the casual observer and make it seem less obvious that it is a silver plated nickle alloy.
