Hi all!

Please, I could use help on a silverplate mark I've seen on that unmentionable site. The auction has ended so I hope it's OK to ask.

The mark looks familiar but I cannot find it anywhere in my books.

Does anyone recognize it?

Thanks as always for your time.

I have the same piece. I have never been able to place the maker, or truly identify what it was used for. I have not seen the marks on anything else, though, so maybe it was a company that did mostly housewares or novelties. Hope someone else knows the answers!

Hello Brent!

Thanks for responding. Maybe someone can nail the maker. That said:
My guess for it's use would be for scooping up veggies or fruit etc. & when closed would drain the liquid from getting on your plate?
What do you use it for?

Thank you Scott for the picture!

There's a food serving or handling implement that looks enough like this item to be correct with the US Pat. 2010074 - Filed Apr 16, 1935. The inventor was Joseph Fuerst.

That fits well with the F in the trademark. Any idea who he was?
