I have been trying to find some kind of information about my silver wine cooler I'm very curious about. I believe it is marked with some kind of crest on the side between the handles two lions facing left inside a shield and above that a fancy crown. on the bottom three shields each with its own letter K, S, H? Maybe a fancy In? followed by a birds head.

I have been looking for info but can't find out anything. I'm new at this and feel like all my searching has gone nowhere. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.
Kerry

I've just seen photos of an art deco, apparently chrome, cocktail shaker with identical marks, so this confirms my belief that your wine-cooler is probably circa 1930s or 1940s.

As for the shield, I'm afraid you photo was not clear enough to make out the crown in detail (which might or might not suggest a country of origin). Either this is a "real" coat of arms, perhaps used as the logo of a hotel or club, or it is pure fantasy - intended to lend a certain distinction to the original buyers.

My feeling is this is probably what is known as "hotel ware", good quality silverplate able to withstand hard use.
