Just curious, but since these are technically mixed metals does that mean they can't be marked sterling or are they not sterling (not marked as such).

There is a rule of thumb that you may or may not agree with, but it is "if it doesn't say sterling it's not sterling." This of course applies primarily to twentieth century or later silver. The paper work that comes with the Damascene collection states that "Like all Reed & Barton Silverplate the Damascene Collection is guaranteed for a lifetime."

Thanks for clearing that up.

In one of the leaflets that came with one of these plates that I was looking at I could only find that it was a mixture of silver, copper, etc. I've seen them listing online under sterling tho.
