Short information is also the way you can collect second hand silver. Like this little lot of silver I've bought at a free market. The person who sold these one's didn't knew what they were and for a few $ I could buy them.

The person had found these one's with a detector.

I always like the cleaning and searching for marks(if they exist).

What you can see at the photo:

A whistle(for what purpose? and used by what kind of person?)
Dated around end 19th century, early 20th century.
Decorated with many little squares.

Two halves of a decoration ball which was placed at the end of a hairpin.
800 stamped and also the same decoration as the whistle.
Dated the same as above.

A pocket watch(outside)of the cast, inside it was totally rusted.
Dated beginning the 20th century, inside at the very thin plate is standig 0.800 and a serial number 6098.

A top end of a needle-case, the totally set must be around 11 cm long.
Dated around 1850 , nice decoration, marked with a little sword (1814-1905) and a three letters of a silversmith something like P.E.S.

A filigrain square decorated piece, I think it was the decoration of a button.
There is a J stamp in, that is used for older made silver items that came back in circulation which did not bear an older tax mark, it can be found as the only mark on some pieces and does not guarantee any particular standard in these cases.

The purpose of this topic is that collectors can try at internet, by typing the worths: bottom founds they can find silver items(not recognized by detector finders)and be able for to buy for a couple of $ some things who has to be cleaned at give a lot of fun for research.

A lot of success, Silverhunter.
