Since people on the forum were so kind as to help me with some ideas about out cann, I thought I would post this item. I bought this for my wife several years ago at an antique shop here in Maine. She used to wear it often. We had thought it was a love token, Greek letter society medal, or academic medal. We thought it was unique until a few months ago, a nearly identical item (except for a different script monogram) was posted on a Metal Detecting forum as having been found near an old cellar hole in northern Vermont. Does anyone have any ideas about this? It is quite thin, about half the thickness of a dime.

The conjoined AE can mean age.

Hi!
As per a knowledgeable friend......
AE can be used in written communication by two people who are in love as a dual number pronoun, replacing "we" and "us".

Hope this helps!

Jersey, that does seem like a very likely combination. With the sweetheart idea in mind, I could also see the AE meaning "for the ages" or forever, but that's strictly a guess.
