Hi Everyone:

I purchased from a private source two Unger Brothers pins.

One is 2 inches in diameter and is of Cleopatra and in fact "CLEOPATRA" is cast above her head and is split between the Cleo and Patra by her head. The mark is good and the catch is made with an offset pin.

I have searched the net for days and can't find anything on this pin. Even at museum data basis I have found nothing.

I also have another pin as I said and this one has the heads of four ladies with flowing hair and a flower in their hair. Also 2 inches long and one inch high. Also no reference found.

Can anyone help with how uncommon these items are and when they were made?

They may be suitable for museum display.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Commish. If you could please comply with the requests in the Please Read Before Posting box we might be able to give you some information. We are a small forum of private collectors who welcome new members but ask that they please introduce themselves by saying a bit about their interest in silver (are they a collector, a dealer, a silversmith, a museum curator, etc.) and what is their interest in the particular objects about which they are inquiring (is it a family heirloom, is it something they plan on selling and so are gathering information to help with the sale, are they an appraiser who is gathering information to give an appraisal, is it something they have added to their personal collection, etc.). Also, nice clear, well lit photos with closeups of the markings and overall photos of the object are an absolute must. There are so many markings and styles and reproductions that it is pretty much impossible to say anything meaningful without such photos. Also, this forum is mainly a place where people who enjoy looking and and discussing silver meet and so photos are an integral part of the participation here - they allow everyone to share in your enjoyment of your silver objects.

Regards,
Kimo
